Rather Large Bookcase

Image
We went to see a project that someone needed done for their home.  They had lots of books for their kids to read but not enough space for them. So they showed us what they had in mind and we were able to help them out. They wanted a wall to wall, floor to ceiling bookcase that had cabinets down below to store their games and puzzles, while having book shelves on top and enough room for their TV and related devices.  They also wanted the cabinet to be painted to brighten the room. We used bead board for the backing and used the paint the homeowner supplied.  The homeowners were delighted to have more space for their books and entertainment needs.

A New Kitchen

Image
Last November a tragedy happened, a fire burned out a house, so the whole inside was gutted out.  The family had contacted a framer to rebuild the inside.   He had called us to install the hardwood floors and could we build the kitchen cabinets.   We said we can help. This Summer we built the cabinets to look just like the ones that were there prior to the fire. We got there and the kitchen looked so bare. We had a young fellow help us install the cabinets.  Warren held the cabinet while Eric attached the cabinets to the wall.  He was a great help to us. The cabinets went in beautifully and the was ready for the countertops, appliances and sink to be placed. The framer had someone else install LVP for the kitchen flooring.

Dining Room Cabinet

This past week we had installed a cabinet that we custom buit. The homeowner had found the doors and asked us to build a cabinet to fit them.     We primed the cabinet and the homeowner was going to paint the final coat of paint.

Two Sets of Bunkbeds

Image
"Can you make us a couple of bunk beds? We are expecting our sixth child." Sure! We can help. The customer brought to us nine, old pine, 3x3 inch posts that he got from an auction. He then sent us a photo of the bunkbed he had in mind.   We went rummaging through the wood collection we have and found pine boards that matched the posts.   We did a mortis and tennon on the  boards and posts, made safety rails for top and bottom.   We then stained them special walnut and applied 3 coats of finish on them.  The weather was so nice the day we applied the finish, 70°F in February!

Finally Got Refinished

With this project, we were called out to see back in 2020 to refinish the floors, stair case and handrails and balcony rail. Then the virus came. The job then was postponed for quite some time. About two years later it got back on schedule. As time came close to refinish, the homeowner said he sold the place as is. Wouldn't you know, months after that, we get a call to give a quote to the new homeowner of this house. This house was bound to get its floors refinished.  The sun had bleached the floors and the style was that of the 1990's. We made and installed the staircase handrails and replaced the newel posts with our own boxed newel posts. We installed metal balusters as well. We sanded the floors and steps and stained them a beautiful dark red mahogany color.  Living room before sanding  Balcony rail The original handrail and newel post  Living room after refinishing The balcony rail replaced New rails a
